Founder
Johanna Persing is the founder of Colony Group Media. She is a highly regarded strategic communications leader with over a decade of experience working at the highest levels on political campaigns and on Capitol Hill. Most recently, Johanna served as the Deputy Communications Director for the Republican National Committee, building and overseeing the most robust booking and surrogate operation team in Republican Party history. Throughout her impressive career, she has worked to secure prime media placements for presidential candidates, members of Congress, Governors, corporate and think tank leaders, high-profile surrogates, policy experts, social media influencers, and small business owners worldwide.
Johanna has built a reputation as the go-to person for media booking on top-rated media platforms having the distinct pleasure of booking high-profile guests on every major network and cable news channel in America and the United Kingdom. Her coveted and proprietary list of media executives, producers, directors, hosts, editors, and bookers reaches far beyond cable television. Johanna has booked hundreds of nationally syndicated and local radio programs and digital outlets, including those catered to minority audiences.
Under her bold leadership at the Republican National Committee (RNC), Johanna took the RNC Media Affairs operation to new heights! During the 2020 presidential cycle alone, she oversaw a team that resulted in over 25,000 interviews - nearly FIVE TIMES more interviews booked than during the previous campaign cycles. Johanna prides herself on thinking outside the box and building relationships across the aisle and with hundreds of geographically, racially, and politically diverse surrogates from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences.
She has orchestrated multimillion-dollar strategic media plans and complex national booking efforts for some of the most highly visible events such as the confirmation hearings of three U.S. Supreme Court Justices.
Johanna is a Pennsylvania native and a graduate of Gettysburg College and spent time at the American University in Cairo.
